What is the difference between a fine art giclée print and a standard digital print?

The Giclée print method is used for producing edition prints from limited edition original artworks or photographs using modern wide format digital inkjet fine art printers.

The word giclée is a French language derivation referring to squirt or spray, thus "spraying of ink".

The Giclée printing method delivers a fine stream of archive rated pigment ink on fine art papers, resulting in vivid, pure colour, and exceptional detail most suitable for exhibition display and sale as high-end fine art prints. It is also regarded as one of the most stable colour printing processes available today. It is a process that uses a 12 colour inkjet printer, acid-free papers, and pigment based archival inks. This ensures that your prints will never degrade or yellow over time and allows a better longevity. Your digital giclée prints are produced on genuine fine art printers using archival pigment inks with lightfastness ratings of 100 years.

What if I change my mind?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer returns or refunds as our fine art prints are made to order.

How do I handle my fine art print?

All fine art prints are twice screened for any blemishes and imperfections before being passed onto clients: once by the printer and a second time in the artist's studio. Unframed prints are shipped in industrial tubes for extra protection and should be stored so until framed. Due to their delicate nature, prints should only be handled by a professional framer or the owner using gloves. If you are framing your print yourself (and do not own clean cotton gloves), wash your hands well with soap, dry thoroughly, do not apply any creams. Clear a large flat space, preferably a table, clean with a damp cloth and dry very thoroughly. Before taking your print from its post tube, pre prepare and clean your frame and it’s glass. When you are ready to place the print into its new frame, open the post tube and unroll print with great care not to crease it, and seal it in its new forever home.

What should I do when receiving my print?

It is important that all prints (and packaging) are inspected by the client within 48 hours of delivery and any concerns addressed in writing within this timeframe. Should we not hear from you within 48 hours, the purchase is deemed to have been accepted in good order and condition.

Why should I invest in art?

There are many reasons why people choose to invest in art. Sometimes people are looking for statement pieces to make an impact in their space, whether that be for a private residential space or commercial premises. Some people believe in the growing popularity of an artist and they predict that investing in certain art pieces in gain in economic value. Other people take great pleasure in knowing that the works are not readily available through mass production. And other people just fall in love.
